SHOPPING DESTINATION

MELBOURNE CBD Shopping Malls

Bourke Street is the heart of Melbourne CDB shopping with mainstream department stores such as Myers, David Jones, Adidas, Sportsgirl and Supre.

The GPO is beautiful. On the corner of Bourke Street and Elizabeth Street which houses some of the biggest names in Australian fashion designers such as Wayne Cooper, Karen Miller, Lisa Ho, Mimco, Metalicus, Zimmerman and Ben Sherman to name a few.

Melbourne Central is a shopping mall in the city, on the corner of La Trobe Street and Swanston Street. There are over 280 shops and it always seems to be one of the busiest places in the CBD.

QV is another shopping mall in the city, on the corner of Swanston Street and Lonsdale Street. It houses the top of national and international designers and a variety of eateries and of course people.

MELBOURNE CBD Main Streets

The upper end of Collins Street is known as the Paris End of Melbourne. It's the Who's Who of designer clothing, style and glamour such as, Gucci, Tiffany & Co., Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel to name a few. Also the list includes Nine West, Cue, Saba and Le Louvre. Le Louvre stock brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Stellar McCartney and Elie Saab.

Little Collins Street is Collins Street younger sister. Here you will find designer boutiques, haute couture and funky styles, shoes and fashion such as FCUK, Oroton, Bettina Liano, Arthur Galan, Scanlan & Theodore, Zu, Witchery, and Satch, as well as the best menswear in Melbourne. It also has very cool bars and cafes where you can relax and unwind for the next shopping spree.

Swanston Street Walk is one of the main street in the CBD, Bourke Street, Little Bourke Street, Flinders Lane is known for its groovy bars, designers' shops, funky shops and commercial galleries.

There are historic network of laneways and arcades with some of the best shops in Melbourne. It has intimate boutiques from designer and high end fashion.

Block Arcade is the most famous arcade in Melbourne; it has the most exclusive specialty shops in Melbourne, the high end of retail. It connects Collins, Elizabeth and Little Collins Streets with iron –lace walkways, Italian mosaic floors and impressive glass dome ceiling.

Royal Arcade is filled with fashion and specialty shops. It connects Little Collins Street and Elizabeth Streets with Bourke Street Mall in the CBD Melbourne. There is a hideaway little store that nobody really knows is 'Anonymous Posh' that showcases vintage and recycled fashion and selection of jewellery.

Howey Place is a destination of finding something special to wear. This tiny inner city laneway is the designers' destination such as Alannah Hill, Jason Grech and browse through James Alfredson Jewellers.

Cathedral Arcade is a historic Nicholas building in Swanston Street that homes many Melbourne designers and artists and is resident to many electric and unique shops such as obscure Japanese accessories at Genk and 50's inspired rock fashion at Route 66.

Discount Factory Outlets (DFO), on Spencer Street (cnr Bourke Street). A destination of big brands and big savings, which houses over 120 brands all under one roof such as Cotton On, Country Road, Peter Alexander, Review, Marcs, Pilgrim, Nine West, Diana Ferrari, Industrie, Guess, Portmans, Witchery and Tony Bianco just to name a few.

I recommend allowing 3 or so hours to cover all the shops in the DFO mall.
